Why is the smart filter not being displayed for the catalog category?

Hello.
Trade catalog setup: Item properties - removed properties for display in the smart filter
Catalog settings: Section: Editing: Setting the display of item properties - I add a property and mark it to show in the smart filter.
The section should now show its property in the smart filter, but it doesn't.
I am advised to create (Faceted indexes of infoblocks) which, for some unknown reason known only to the site developer, can break the site itself.
How to correctly display the properties of a smart filter for a section? Maybe there are things I'm missing.
