Why is the size of the text block in Sketch not equal to the size of the text itself?

It is very inconvenient to align the text. Indents are counted from the borders of the block, and in fact, inside the borders, there are a few more pixels up to the text itself. And if on single-line texts this can still be solved by picking up the line height by typing, then on paragraphs it's a tin. Is this a Sketch bug or am I missing something?

You don't understand something.
There is a line height of 18px. It has 14px text. Then there will be 4px free space in the line.
When the front-end renders this, all indent sizes will be calculated from the line edges. The browser understands text the same way Sketch does.
You have to get used to the fact that the edge of the text is the edge of the line , not the last pixel above or below.
