Why is the proxy server not working?

Hello everyone, I turned on the proxy server for free, I go to check the ip, and the ip remains the same as mine, should the ip change when the proxy is connected? why didn't I change? does that mean the proxy is not working? and why? (the proxy itself is working, I checked it through a special site, but for some reason it doesn’t want to work on my computer) : /
