Why is the project not building?

New project Vaadin (created by builder on off site). I do mvn install, which swears to me like this: Failed to execute goal org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-install-plugin:2.4:install (default-cli) on project app-backend: The packaging for this project did not assign a file to the build artifact
