Why is the internet speed limited?

The first time I bought a TP-link Wifi router, before that I used a switch
and swung at a speed of 4-8 Mb / s, when I installed a Wifi router, the speed did not rise more than 1 Mb / s
Well, we thought it was something with a router , bought a second one - also from TP-link, nothing has changed. What could be the problem?
