Why is the category selection on the WP widget reset?

There is a Latest Blog widget that displays the latest posts from the selected category. So, when you select any category, the checkbox is reset and nothing can be displayed.
The category has been created. The entry has been published (the desired category has been selected in it).
Tell me what could be the matter?
