Why is sound not working in Ubuntu?

I recently installed Ubuntu 16.0.4 and ran into the following problem: the sound in the headphones works, but not in the speakers. On Windows, headphones and speakers are visible as one device. they are connected to 3 adjacent jacks. Please tell me how to fix this problem.

Tyk on the volume control - "Sound Settings". There, make sure that the correct audio output is selected, its correct mode is selected and that the "Turn off" checkbox is not checked.
