Why is Notepad++ not displaying the quote?

I use Notepad++ very well on my home computer. Now I decided to put it on the laptop and ran into incomprehensible behavior. If I write text and I put a single or double quote in it, it is not displayed until I enter the next character or another quote. It's just some bullshit. Turned off auto-closing of quotes - did not help.
Who faced? What is it and how to cure it?

keyboards and languages - Change Keyboard
Add English (United States) - US
In Installed Services below click on United States-International and remove
It worked for me somehow
