Why is key backlight not working in Ubuntu?

Hello! Can you please tell me why the backlighting of the keys in ubuntu (Samsung Ativ Book 6 [670Z5E]) may not work?
All function keys work except for the backlight.
PS: Samsung-tools is installed. Ubuntu 14.04

Maybe someone will come in handy. Treated with the following command:

sudo -i
echo 5 > /sys/class/leds/samsung\:\:kbd_backlight/brightness

I don't know the answer to this question, but after all, why do you need backlit keys? Learn the blind typing method and don't worry about backlighting anymore.
