Why is html minification popular?

I understand CSS minification, but html compression?
Indeed, in most cases, after landing on the CMS and support.
Or is it minified already when everything is set up, planted on the CMS and filled?

@Enniack

You need to minify the code on the server, and not store it, in this form, in files.

It's a fight against windmills. I don't see where it's popular.

Just a banal reduction in the weight of the html file.
there are a lot of online services for html compression,
and vice versa, there are so-called "html beautifier", which allow you to easily edit the minified code.
For example this one . Easily restore the familiar view of the document for the developer.

I agree with Sanes , I only minify CSS and Js. HTML is not touched.
