Damn, my eyes are bleeding! doesn't say anything? You don't even need JavaScript knowledge - it says directly in words - Toggle Class. Add the menu_active class to the div with the menu class, and it will also toggle it. The background is gone because your paths are not registered to the background. Since you don't know how to write a relative path, write the full one.
