Why is Android Studio stuck on "Gradle build using tasks"?

I just installed Android Studio, created a new MyApplication template project, launched it and the studio hung with this message. The compilation job is queued up behind this "Gradle build using tasks".

What to do?

When I open a lot of things, it also "hangs" somewhere from 5-10 minutes, it can stand like that, then it starts. I have linux.

Close the process, try again. This is an early access preview - it can take off every 5 minutes, and nothing will happen to it. Maybe you have some specific bug that has surfaced, if it hangs stably - try to run the Gradle with your hands and read what it wants.
