Why is a system administrator given mathematics at a technical school?
In the technical school where I study, they tell us that we must know mathematics and physics perfectly, we are programmers after all ... Of course, I understand that programming is needed for automation, but when we are told that you will be developers, when we have the qualification "Computer Network Administrator" , I have a stupor. Even senior courses on the subject "Operating systems" are not engaged in setting up these systems, but in PROGRAMMING applications for these systems! And they want to send us later to higher education, because without VO we will only be laying wires.
And now please explain to me, the poor one: why are they giving us mathematics, if we don’t study at the tower and what’s the point of mathematics, if, according to them, we will still “lay wires” later?
Of course, I understand that everything is difficult with IT education, but it’s completely when explicit “system administrators” are told that they are programmers (During the month of study, I have already heard so many stereotypes about IT nshiks, I can’t anymore).

Secondary vocational education programs implemented on the basis of 9 grades include disciplines of secondary general education (grades 10-11). The development of such programs is carried out in accordance with the requirements of the Federal State Standards for secondary vocational and secondary general education, taking into account the professional profile for which students are being trained.
And programming ... so they can give, then they give, because. the name of the specialty is just marketing))
Another "why are they teaching me" is a question. I explain:
The learning process consists not only in stupidly pushing information "white-orange, orange, white-green, blue, white-blue, green, ...) into the admin's head, but also in the development of his thinking abilities, as well as the development his personality as a whole ... It is for this purpose that such unnecessary things
as physical
education are tucked into all curricula (so that at 30 years old you do not buy half of the pharmacy), cultural studies (to distinguish Bebel from Babel, Babel from the cable, cable from the dog, and the dog from the bitch ), math, and other junk.
The ability to tinker with abstract letters on a piece of paper improves something in the brain, after which the solution of the same tasks of planning work is obtained with less effort. And besides, you won't be pulling cables all your life (hopefully), so it's good to have some basic knowledge.
