Why integrate Tomcat and Apache web server?

What is the purpose of integrating Tomcat with the Apache web server? What does Tomcat as a full-fledged servlet container lack (HTML and PHP it can give)? What gives it integration with a web server?

tomcat is slow if you just want to serve http.
But tomcat and apache are available for both Linux and Windows, but nginx for windows does not seem to exist, so it happened ...

I saw integration for the sake of AJP and clustering. There is also for Nginx, but here, they use it for some reason.

seriously - tomcat is just slow.
