Why doesn't Unity work on Ubuntu 13.04 (NVIDIA graphics card)?
Hello.
Such a problem: after the reboot, the PC stopped loading Unity (at the same time, if you call some GUI application from the console, for example, double commander, then it starts normally). I tried to reinstall the NVIDIA driver (proprietary, open-source nouveau was removed) - it helped. Also, commands like:
sudo dconf reset -f /org/compiz
unity --reset-icons & disown
, reinstalling unity & compiz, etc. did not help either. etc.
Moreover, if you switch to console mode (Ctrl + Alt + F1) and call startx from there, then X's are loaded and work.
There was an idea that my NVIDIA driver or the CUDA driver crashed and the PC does not see the video card, but at the same time CUDA programs run on the PC, which means that at least the CUDA driver works correctly.
No one has come across this, maybe there are ready-made solutions?
Thanks in advance.
