Please help me figure it out. I do not understand why the application icon does not change. I do as it is written in the tutorial: res -> New -> Image Asset, etc. It would seem that everything is simple, but he has already broken his whole head. At the same time, if I download someone else's source code with a custom icon, then everything works fine. What's wrong?!

The solution turned out to be very simple. You just need to disable InstantRun .
File –> Settings –> Build, Execution, Deployment –> Instant Run – uncheck Enable Instant Run...

Look in the drawable folder for the logo, the logo is called ic_launcher
