Why doesn't sass syntax work for me?

Those. i installed sass and it works fine with .scss file, but if i create a file with .sass extension it immediately stops working and throws errors.
Writes:
Error: Properties are only allowed within rules, directives, mixin includes, or other properties.
on line 2 of sass/qwe.sass
