Why doesn't Roboto font work in elementary os 0.3.2?

I tried: Download robot font from here fonts.google.com/specimen/Roboto and upload it to
/home/user/.fonts
/home/user/.locale/share/fonts Tried
to
install with Font Viewer Tried to install using Font Manager
Tried to do so sudo apt-get install fonts-roboto
But the result doesn't change! Gimp does not see the Roboto Thin font, other programs see it, but it does not differ from Roboto Light, and if you install only Roboto Thin, then everything is fine, the Thin font works. But I need the whole font family to work properly. But so that I don’t do either the Thin and Light fonts are the same, or the thin and light and regular fonts are the same, or if you put only one roboto font each time, then it works fine. How to make the entire font family work?
