Why doesn't .NET Core 2.1 work?

Visual Studio 2017 Enterprise. I checked the box for .NET Core during installation. The studio installed .NET Core SDK 2.1 with it.

But when I create a project, .NET Core 2.1 is not in the list of options, only .NET Core 2.0

How can I fix this?

The .NET Core 2.1 SDK is installed as a separate package. The integration of .NET platforms into the Visual Studio IDE always happens a little later with the release of updates.
