Why doesn't Linux see USB ST-LINK?

Installed Xubuntu on my laptop. After some torment with the project, I realized that the Chinese USB ST-LINK is not even detected in the system (I do not see any changes, when it is connected, in the ls /dev/ list). Everything works fine on a Windows computer.
