Why doesn't ionic work?

Why doesn't Aenik work on ubuntu. Installed via apt-get npm. It works, gives out the version, downloads. I downloaded node-js, it seems to be installed. And again, the version displays. But I installed node, ionic, cordova. Does not work. They are, as it were, but do not display and do nothing.

How to be? Help please
