Why doesn't google maps api load in android release, but does it work in debug?

Hello, the situation is as follows.
I made an application using the api of one affiliate program. Connected google maps api, maps worked, everything is ok. I made a release version, uploaded it to play google, the maps loaded.
After a while (8-10 days) I noticed that the maps stopped loading.
I immediately remembered that google maps api is paid . But there are limits.
I look - with my test runs, I have only 60 requests to api per week.
I run the debug version (on the emulator and on real devices) - the maps are loaded, everything works "as it should".
I'm making a release version - the maps are not loaded.

Can anyone come across? Do I need to pay when using the release version?
