Why doesn't Eclipse pdt highlight or prompt?

Downloaded Eclipse PDT (Version: 3.2.0).
It starts, but there are no standard php prompts and no code highlighting. At the same time, html files are normally highlighted and there are hints of standard tags.
OS: Debian 7.4 amd64

I myself have not made friends with PDT, so I use Aptana on Eclipse, it somehow looks friendlier
