Why doesn't drag'n'drop to code editors work on ubuntu?

Strangely enough, but for some reason, dragging folders into the project tree does not work for me on ubuntu. Because of this feature, I switched to atom, which somehow doesn’t suit me very well. In atom, drag and drop doesn't work either, but at least there is a project tree with a context menu and an "add project folder" option.

You can get by with a small crutch: open some main directory in the sublime, and then in that directory make symlinks to other necessary ones. In terminal something like
cd ~/ProjectDir && ln -s ~/SubProjectDir SubProject
