Why doesn't composer pull dependency dependencies?

There is a site on YII2, in composer.jsonthe dependencies I specify my repository on the github, and already in my repository in the file I composer.jsonspecify the dependency on someone else's package.
At startup composer update, only my package is pulled up, although, as I understand it, the package on which my package depends should be pulled up automatically? Or am I wrong?

Do you include it as a package? Or just as a third party repository? I'm not sure, but maybe if you're linking as just a 3rd party repository, maybe it doesn't handle composer.json?
And yes, it should.
