Why does VS Code underline the closing html tag in red?

VS Code underlines the closing html tag in red and when opened in the browser, an error appears:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected end of file in ... on line 42

The keyboard layout is English, I don’t understand what else the error could be.

Are you sure there are no errors or characters inside the HTML that can be interpreted by PHP?
