Why does vagrant/hostmanager error pop up when I start vagrant?

Good evening,
I run vagrant vagrant up and an error pops up

Vagrant failed to initialize at a very early stage:

The plugins failed to load properly. The error message given is
shown below.

cannot load such file -- vagrant/hostmanager

I can't figure out what the problem is. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling vagrant-hostmanager, didn't help
