Why does ubuntu freeze?
Good afternoon.
I installed Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS as the second system on my computer. Allocated a separate disk for 50 gigs for this case.
For example, you go through the pages of the site, the system hangs. The mouse moves, but all other actions (including hotkeys, etc. - do not work). Rescues only reboot
i3 - ancient (but Windows works fine on it).
4-giga operators.
650 vidyuha.
I did not install any applications and other things on ubuntu.
Can you suggest what exactly is the issue?

Have you thought that your vidyuhi needs something proprietary? Or optimization. Using unity hangs on any computer)
1.bum - daemon download manager, disable what you don't need, ps if you disable everything that is there-> the system will not die, but something will not function, depending on what is turned off
2 .put a less gluttonous shell, I use synamon, but if the computer is older, it saves lxde, xfce, and so on.
3. deal with your firewood, even a video card on free firewood will eat your percent more by 40% + lack of hardware acceleration
4. using chrome on old hardware is not desirable, use something like firefox, opera
5. sometimes use cleaners like bleachbit
