Why does the provider not see the mac address?

Hello everyone, there is a server on it is Scientific Linux 6.3, I changed the provider, I insert the cable into the server, I get a gray IP address, I call the provider saying that this way and that, it says that it sees the connection but the server poppy does not see it, I connect the laptop with the same cable, the provider sees the laptop poppy , I insert back into the server, the provider does not see the server's poppy. I say they say prescribe manually. They say that the type of server does not give the poppy, here it will not give anything manually. What could be the problem?

Most likely you have a problem with determining the speed of the interface. Your provider probably saves on the cable, and instead of 4 pairs, it gave two, and even killed the speed of the 100Mb half dumplex type on the switch. Here are some cards that make mistakes in determining automatic connection parameters.
Find out the exact connection parameters from the provider, and write them through ethtool, and paste them into the interface settings.
