Why does the English character X display on the site as the Russian letter H?

Good afternoon, I have the AGOpus font installed on my site.
and when I put the English letter x or the sign ×, then on the site it is displayed as the capital letter H.
Website encoding utf-8

Apparently, AGOpus is not a Unicode font, so the character × (code 215) is shown in the OEM encoding as Russian Ch.
