Why does the android emulator (AVD) start from the 2nd-3rd time?

I'm learning Android programming. Installed Eclipse plugin and Android SDK. Everything works, but I noticed such a thing: sometimes the emulator starts from the 2nd time only. Sometimes from the third. I noticed that the emulator does not start if, when I start it, I do something on the computer (I watch pages in the browser, open a pdf document, etc.), that is, I assume that it may be due to insufficient RAM (1GB) ?
yes, the following message appears in the Eclipse console:
[2012-11-07 19:36:24 - Calculator] emulator-5554 disconnected! Cancelling 'com.example.calculator.MainActivity activity launch'!

There is an opinion (a bit shamanic, a bit mystical) that during the launch of the emulator you do not need to do anything in other applications (i.e. leave the RAM alone for the duration of the launch)

Because the whole Eclipse is built on bones, crutches and shit code. There are a lot of elementary inexplicable things going on there.
