Why does symfony have 3 types of configuration?

I read to dock on a siphon. There, all settings are specified in three options: yaml, xml and php. Why is this needed? Why not use just one?

You are given a choice and a flexible architecture with which you can easily connect any other format. You just take and use what is more convenient in your case.
In general, it is strange to see surprise that a person is given a choice.
