Why does smplayer play avi video jerkily in ubuntu?

The avi format is played jerkily, with mp4 everything is in order.
Just the length of the lessons is more than 3 hours, I don’t want to convert.
Can I somehow fix it?

Switched to vlc, there is no such problem
