Why does RDP connection slow down under Windows (it doesn't slow down under linux)?

There is a local network. Everyone in it works on Windows 7, but there is one necessary program that works on only under Windows XP (it also does not work through compatibility mode). The virtual machine with XP has been lifted, the User goes there on RDP, and works there with this program. And when I go there from Debian through the remmina program, everything is fine, everything flies. But for those who try to go there from Windows, it lags, you can even see how the context menu is drawn. Why is this happening?
