Why does push after merge offer to upload commits to the server, starting from the very first one?

There is a problem - for some reason I can’t find a normal description in the documentation.
I have a master, a branch from it is a task, I work in a task, from time to time I merge from the master, after pushing to the branch, everything is ok.
Today, after another merge, I decided to once again push to task. And phpstorm rolled out to me a list of commits that he is going to upload, and there is a list of all commits since the creation of the repository.
I downloaded master to another folder, switched to task, merge again, pull again and again I get the whole list of commits.
Tell me if this is normal and why?
