Why does owl carousel stop when switching to another tab in the browser?

Today I accidentally noticed the strange behavior of the owl carousel slider. When autoplay is enabled - autoplay:true the slider works, everything is fine, but if you go to another browser tab and stay there for a while, then when you go back to the page with the slider, you find that it has stopped. I racked my brain for a long time, then I went to the official page and there is the same thing, plus a pause on hover gives the same result, the slider stops. But if you spin it with the cursor, then it starts to automatically scroll again) Who faced this?
