Why does Office 2016 open a blank workbook when I open any file?

When opening an Excel spreadsheet or a Word file, Book1 or Document1 opens for some reason. Elsi open an empty Word / Excel, and open the file from it, the same thing happens - the file opens in a new window. Win10 Pro, Office 2016 Pro.

Found a solution: the MySQL add-on was interfering.
File - Options - Add-ins - in the group of active add-ins select MySQL for Excel - at the bottom, where Manage, select COM Add-ins, click Go - Select MySQL for Excel and click Delete
