Why does it take a long time to import a project from Autocad into 3DS MAX?

I am importing a project from AutoCAD 2014 64x into 3d max 2014 64x for visualization. There are about 3000 parts in the project.
The import takes about 5 hours and is only 75% complete. This is fine?
The processor is only 25% loaded, the memory takes only 500 MB. Why it takes so long, I can't figure it out.

I didn’t do the import myself, so the advice is only a guess: look at the settings later, perhaps the resources that AutoCAD can take on are limited.
