Why does htaccess work on nginx?
Good day to all. Site on nginx. At the root there is .htaccess, standard for Bitrix. I add a redirect rule from URL without WWW to WWW, it works for all pages except the main one.
Why does it work if, in theory, it shouldn't work on nginx? And then how to set it up correctly so that it works for the main page?

htaccess doesn't work in nginx. Perhaps you have proxying in apache there
The www redirect in Bitrix is best configured through nginx. As for htaccess, as mentioned above, it does not work in nginx. You should at least study something - how Bitrix works out of the box in general, since you decided to get into it.
