Why does Habr have login cookies for only a month? Why aren't they made for 10 years?

Logging in once a month is a mockery. What are developers afraid of? Why exactly 30 days?

Logging in once a month is a mockery.

I type in all the passwords by hand. Before I close the browser, I clean the history, cookies and cache, leaving the computer for a meter, blocking it with a password. I learn about the lifetime of cookies from such posts.

Increase the time with your hands. It is a sin to complain to a technically savvy person about the lifetime of a cookie.

Of course, this is not a problem with a password manager, but today Habr made me enter the captcha the first time. It seems that before one attempt was given without bullying.

Sessions are stored on the server, and storing them is very expensive, not only because of the space it takes, but also because of the heavy search in the overgrown database. Keeping sessions long is quite a challenge, even for Facebook.
