Greetings. Don't worry about paying for Google Maps. They give $200 a month (about 10,000 static cards). Accordingly, you can use it as before. BUT!
1) you need to add billing information and activate Google Maps Javascript API
2) you need to verify your domain via Google Search Console.
As for why your maps disappear when you activate the caching plugin, then the problem is most likely not in the above.
1) look at the browser console for errors.
