Why does Google Chrome slow down when resizing a window on Linux Mint?

Installed linux mint, installed google chrome. I started to typeset the site, and then I noticed that when the browser window is resized, there are just terrible lags, it seems like it calculates something for two or three seconds, only then it applies the changes. Although Firefox works consistently fast. Why is this happening? And how to fix it?

Probably due to video drivers. But not a fact.
If you use proprietary ones, in theory it will be better.
