Why does gatsby need its own WordPress template?

Good afternoon, the following question arose, when using WordPress as a backend, why frameworks like Getsby cannot pull up the layout from WordPress itself, it would be easy to change templates, why is this not implemented?

Gatsby is an html compiler for React. And Wordpress does not have its own template engine. That's why it's not implemented. If you want to use Wordpress as a backend, I advise you to dig towards the WP REST API. And Redux pull the data, or something else. A good library for WPAPI work for a node.
