Yii

Why does everyone love YII so much?

It is ugly, violates all the principles of SOLID, and indeed all the principles of object-oriented design. So why are they so dragged from him in Runet, if there is symfony2, laravel?

Because it so happened that most WEB developers in the PHP world for some reason do not care about all these "fancy patterns", SOLID and so on. Why do people waste time and understand best-practice when you can take and sculpt websites.
To be frank, at the time Yii1.0 was released, it was really something new in the PHP world. But due to the lack of quality development, it was blown away.

Because these spherical principles in a vacuum are neither needed nor important. What matters is how well and quickly the tool allows you to create a product. Yii allows. That's why he's cool and everyone loves him. Well, plus a very developed and friendly community, incl. Russian-speaking.

it's so popular because it's got ActiveRecord and it's kind of "all in one" for fast development. You can also quickly file a website on it and there is good Russian documentation.
