Why does chromium-browser work better than google-chrome? How to achieve the most optimization from the webkit browser?

While google-chrome (a build of chrome from google.com) allowed me to open a maximum of 20 tabs without glitches, chromium-browser (a GNU community build) allows me to open more than 40:

Why does chromium-browser work better than google-chrome? Is it possible to make google-chrome work the same way as chromium? What is the reason for this? Are there savvy people? How to achieve the most optimization from the browser on webkit?

Here, Google developers suggest that maybe because of Flash. There are no real differences anymore, at least the Chrome developers don't know about them.
Can disabling flash help?
