Just wondering why and why it exists in browsers

Imagine that there is only markup, no styles.
The text will stick to the edge of the window. It will look gross.
For this, there is boldness, increased size and indents at headings, indents between paragraphs and other useful default styles. Otherwise there will be porridge.
