Why does a PROXMOX VM consume so much more RAM than the task manager on the machine itself shows?
The situation is this
. I go into Proxmox and see that the server consumes almost all (and sometimes even more) RAM, although the server serves as a SAMBA server for us and no special programs are used on it.
I decided to check what is eating so much RAM and as a result - the consumption is almost minimal
. Why is there such a difference in performance?

There are no drawdowns in memory, according to the photo in the figure below, there is a drawdown only when the computer is restarted, then it stabilizes at maximum

On the first screenshot - possibly allocated RAM for the VM, on the second - consumed inside the VM.
Well, since the guest tools are not installed - proxmox does not receive the necessary information from inside the VM.
