Why do you need to know the parameters of inputs and outputs?

Input resistance 6.8 kOhm. What does this value affect and why do you need to know it?

It is also worth noting that for HF (not your option :)) if the input impedance is not equal to the wave impedance of the cable, then the signal will be reflected back into the cable.

  • 1. The output impedance of the signal source and the input of the receiver form a voltage divider. The signal may not be strong enough at the input.
  • 2. The output of the source may not be designed to deliver such a current that will flow through the input impedance of the receiver.
