Why do snippets slow down in VSCode in html file?

Hello.
I decided to try adding a couple of elements on the page of the site I like.
I went to the desired page through Google Chrome, right-clicked, Save as and saved the html file. Opened it in Visual Studio Code, navigated to the correct line, typed "a", pressed Tab, waiting for Emmet to expand it into a tag. But first, the "notification" Activating Extension appeared at the bottom left... and only a few minutes later the snippet was applied. Subsequent snippets in this file are also opened slowly (5 seconds).
VSCode saw such brakes for the first time. How to treat it? (The purchase of a new PC and components, as well as the transition to Sublime - do not offer).
