Why do most IDEs/text editors lately come with a dark color scheme?

For example products from JetBrains, the same Sublime/Atom. After all, dark backlighting has a bad effect on vision, especially in web development, when you have to switch from a dark editor / IDE to a light page of the site, this hurts your eyes. What do you think about this, what backlight do you use?

На темной схеме, имхо, меньше глаза устают.

Сидишь себе в темном редакторе. В наушниках музыка приятная и спокойная играет. Уютненько так. Романтика.

Чтобы не переключаться хорошо иметь второй монитор, где все само обновляется.
